Ho! Ho! Ho! A Merry & Blessed Christmas!

Wow! Who's this?

On Christmas eve, I spent the whole afternoon in KSH Bicycle in SS2. This time, instead of the usual see see look look sessions, I decided to buy myself a road bike. Yes! Yes! Yes! Santa Claus was riding to town. Hahaha! Finally…tomatoman can really go crazy on a road bike!!!!! Yippa yippa!

A Merida model 880. It came with Sora gears and aluminium fork. Err…that is Merida’s entry level, meaning cheapest lah, below RM2K.
After info digging session and talking to the KSH boss, my 880 was upgraded with Tiagra gears and Bianchi carbon fork. Ooh la la…but price also automatically upgraded to RM2.5K…..ouch! oucH! OUCH!
This is my bike undergoing the transformation.

Walla! It is the most expensive gift I’ve ever bought….luckily it’s for myself…phew! Hehe!

Tiagra components.

It was interesting watching them changing or should I say transplanting those components to the 880 frame. These pros did it in a jiffy! Fast and not furious lah…but efficient.

As for the bike shoes, somehow they didn’t have size40 for the entry level models and even my first choice on the cheapest entry model didn’t have my size. Alamak! Why like tat one?!
I had no choice but to buy the Shimano triathlon model SHTR50, and it cost me satu linggit kulang dali lima latut (RM499!!! …it better last at least 5 years!) oh….adoh, my wallet went to ICU lah. Anyhow it has carbon fibre sole and it does look very the mengancamlah! Yeah!

Very kau-kau triathlon bike shoes Shimano SHTR50. Hmm…I better make full use of it and make Triathlon as my resolution for 2008. Hahaha!

See my expensive shoe?

Christmas Day 25th December 2007 - Merry Christmas!!! My first ride. So…HO! HO! HO!
We (KhooYK & friend, Dr. Rumerida (Raymond Hee) and Kheng, who lead the ride) met at Putrajaya Palace of Justice at 730am. First time using clip-on shoes, I was expected to ‘peng’…but…I disappointed Dr. Rumerida for not following his trademark of ‘peng-ing’ from his bike. Nyak ah ah!!

It was a fantastic ride. I felt gooooooood!! Yeah, the bike fits very well to my tomato body. Me short short so the frame is XS lah… ngam ngam ho!

50km was our ride and there’ll be more, much much more to come….

....and that's crazytomatoman (yeah, i know....helmet kinda big lah...hahaha!)

Gunners and Red Devils triumph!!!

Last night was nothing else but football, football, football.

Minum bola, makan bola, tengok bola, tidur bola!!!!

It was rather quiet, being a Sunday night, but the silence faded away with the first whistle being blown at Anfield and Emirates Stadium. So, from 930pm till 2am, most ball crazy guys were stuck to the tv screen.

This was how most mamak shops with their customers will look like and look at…

But the two big matches were worth it!

In fact the matches resemble “Rumble In The Jungle” kinda boxing matches whereby extra rough tackles were endless. Referees not only had tiring lungs blowing the whistle but also tiring fingers jotting down yellow carded players. The players did try their very best, in any way they can, not to score but to tackle and bring down (injure) the “engine” of the opponent team. Ouch!

But what can we (Gunners and Red Devils supporters) say, the best team wins!

Liverpool 0 - 1 Manchester United
Tevez: Yessssss!!!! I did it!!!!.....Aaaaarrgghhh...wat are you doin??!!!
Christiano Ronaldo: Yea...gimme some sugar baybeh!!!! Mmmmm....
Brown: Eeeeh...better stay away from these two...

Arsenal 1 - 0 Chelsea
Cech: Oh crap..... Gallas is now a Gunner!!!! si liaw lah...
Gallas: Hah! Now you know why I'm wearing the no.10!!!! Taste that, baybehhh!!! Muahahaha!!

And so, the heated race is on….between Arsenal and Manchester United...

Pinky - the tomatodoggie

Pinky!

Yes, that's my lil doggie back in Kuching. We named her Pinky from the colour of her cute lil nose.

This picture was when we just got her. Looks like a mini polar bear.

A very curious puppie....or 'kay po' in hokkien...

Very mischievous fella too. Just by looking at her face, you'll know what I mean. Whatever you eat, she'll eat. I still remember the time I had some extermely sour fruit...gave her some and you can imagine how her face turned 'sour'! hahaha!
Likes to play hide & seek and fetch was here favourite game when she was slimmer. Playing pulling is where she looks like Babe the piggy!

From lil Pinky she grew up into a hamba karamba fatty piggy. Look at that fatty fatty bum bum! She'll try to eat anything, yes, almost anything. Pic below is where she gave plastic a shot...haha!

However I tried to get that plastic container from her, she just won't let go. Oh yes, cute as she may be, she growl at anyone who tries to wallap her food.

Aww....I love you too, my piggy Pinky!

After a hard day being 'kay po', lil fatty piggy Pinky is poofed.

Christmas - Holiday or Holy Day?

Christians look forward to the time of the year when we celebrate two important holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. These holidays have their beginnings and roots in Christian celebrations. The word holiday actually means "holy day"; hence these events should be remembered and celebrated in a holy manner. We have strayed from that purpose over the years as we have embraced many unholy practices and worldly customs and added them to our "holy days."

Christmas has also been with many secular and traditional additions that take away from this celebration of our Lord's birth. The materialism that surrounds this season is one of the most obvious; however, there are others. Office parties with the alcohol flowing freely certainly desecrate all that the day stands for. As Christians, we celebrate this day because it is the Lord's birthday and it gives us pleasure to remember the Christmas story as recorded in the Bible in Luke 2.

For many years, people observed Christmas as a religious festival only. But they gradually adopted more and more customs unrelated to the church. In England, during the Middle Ages, Christmas became the merriest day of the year. Celebrations eventually became so rowdy that the Puritans in England did away with the observance of Christmas by law in 1643.Our present day celebration here in the United States is a combination of several customs and traditions that come from different European countries. (The World Book Encyclopedia gives an in-depth description of these for those interested.) Since we are looking to the Bible for our standards it would be well to eliminate those things that are not Christ-exalting. We should avoid going to extremes, but on the other hand we should not partake of things that are not honoring Jesus' birthday.

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2007

2nd Dec 2007 was a day to remember! It was a “super duper ooh babey let’s race” marathon in Negara Singapura.

A big group of us gathered at Pudu bus station 1130pm on Friday 30th Nov to catch the midnite unofficial Pacesetters bus to “sin cia puo”.
Arrived at Lavender St. about 5am++ and the first thing we did after checked into the apartment was…..zzzzzzzzzz

After having our much needed tidur and brunch, we met up with Dr. Rum. He looked kinda blurr blurr after spending the nite in Chinatown. Lotsa China hot chics walking around at dawn dressed up with makeup so you know lah what they do…

Collected our goody bag and number bibs at Suntec city where we jalan-jalan till kaki very the pain pain lah.
Look at our speakerbox uncle. So stylo & hip with cap, nike sleeveless but when you look at what he has to walk in…..selipar apek!!! And beg nenek!!!! Adohai!!!

In Singapore, it must be a norm for chics to dress so hot-ly. So many of them with hot pants and low cut spaghetti tops. Fuuuyoh! We went goo-goo-ga-ga lah !!!

8pm and all of us were back in the apartment. Dr. Rum was already very busy...clipping nails, taking ORS...bla bla bla....wonder if he took steriods? hmm...

That nite we were very good boys and off to dreamland around 9pm. Unbelievable!!
Full marathon runners start waking up from 330am and all of us walked half an hour to reach the starting line from our Chinatown apartment.

2007 has a record breaking number of participants. With us was Aaron aiming for 42km as well. He has not participated in any runs before and more shocking is that he DID NOT train for this marathon. Unbelievable? Believe it….where there’s a will, there’s a way!

We took 6min from our starting point to reach the starting line. Sardine style where we kinda hopped our way to the starting line lah.

Aaron did his own pace behind us and icthyman Vincent took off like a speedy Gonzalez way in front of us.
Dr. Rum led our way zig zagging for almost 15km before we could run in a straight line instead of doing the zorro sign all the way.

15km, that was also when I zoomed off with him smelling my….kentut…..hehehe!

Although I’ve set a target of 4hr30min, I just have to try a faster pace for as long as I can before the damm cramps start attacking. The U turn sign at ECP was a happy happy joy joy sign for all the marathoners. What a relief we don't have to go straight on....but it's actually straight on the other way! hahaha!

Reached the 30km point at an incredible fast pace with my time showing I’m under 3hrs.
But as expected cramps started at the 33km mark. Dang! It slowed me down tremendously and for the rest of the run, I had to jog n walk…..

38km mark and I had 20min before it is 4hr. 5min per 1km can get me a sub4hr record! Oh well, that was a sweet dream when you’re having cramps in both legs. Finally, at the finishing line tomatoman did 4hr7min54sec, a personal best!! Yahoo! Thank God!

Leg massage was so syok lah! Ya, ya...tekan naik sikit....aiyo sakit leh...

Aaron did it...7hrs!!! and he's still smiling! Of course laa...adidas running shoes $200, bus tickets $60....completing 42km...priceless!

Photogenic hot babe...Yan

Pisang bagus untuk anda!We found the handsome runner in the posters!

Khoo, Vincent and tomatoman who has too much sun...turning into bananaman!
