Batu Arang & Dragon Back ride
Burger
Steak
Looks delicious huh? Hehe!
Somehow the title to this posting doesn't jive with what you just saw right? Hahaha!
But I'm not blogging about food...just like to show what I had...err...I mean...what we had after our bike ride. We (Michelle, Debbie, Kenny & me) had this very meaty lunch in Ayers Rock Butcher & Grill, Bukit Jelutong. It was after 70km+ bike ride with BJCC (Bukit Jelutong Cycling Club)
Our ride started from Bukit Jelutong. Quite a number joined. Most are hitting their mileage preparing for PCC Interstate 3day ride end of April.
We rode to Batu Arang and headed home through the challenging dragon back.
First stop 35km at Batu Arang. Had breakfast. Heading back we passed by Bukit Ramlee, a MTB heaven! Must try the trail there someday.
Looking at the pix below and you'll understand why they call it the dragon back. Rolling hills for miles!
Last pit stop before reaching Ayers Rock...lunch!!!
Thanks to Kenny for inviting us to join BJCC ride!

I'm missing out!
I think I still must have missed mentioning a couple more runs...
More runs means good news! More people are health conscious...hopefully they actually run and not just joining for the goodie bags! Hope all those who are new to running will continue running and not just be a 1 hit runner like those 1 hit wonder singers.
But among all those runs, I only did Bareno Half Marathon. 1 run out of ...how many ah? Man... am I missing out big time!
Used to take part in every run available in the Klang valley when I started few years back. Every run seemed so exciting...well, anything that's new is exciting la. Wanted to run everywhere and compete with anyone. Kinda crazy don't you think? Hahaha! But seriously, when you first get involved in running, the passion is overwhelming. Everyday everything is about running.
After that, road bike came into play. Long bike rides, duathlons, triathlons...
Now MTB enters the scene...and I sort of forgot about running long distances and riding on my roadie. Merida is pissed off at Cinder-ella that's for sure.
Seriously...
Sunday runs transformed into MTB rides and I've not blog about KLMTB hash in Kajang. That was a huge gathering of hundreds of MTB riders. A lot of fun!!
2 weeks from now, Kenyir Triathlon. No training can help much now. That's when I did my first OD Tri. Not over dose... OD = olympic distance :P
1.5km swim 40km bike 10km run
Oh well, time to go slow and enjoy while it last...hahaha!

Bareno Run
So how did I fare?
1.38.29
I managed a sub1.40 but found out it's 1km short of a half marathon. Actual distance was 20.3km. I finished behind 20 in my category, behind 12 junior veterans, behind 5 senior veterans, behind 1 women open and behind 2 veteran women. Behind a total of 40 runners and half of them are older than me.
That's 1 way to look at it and it doesn't look good huh. But it definitely will spur me on to achieve a faster time....hopefully that is...
But on the other side, hehehe...this is a cheerful way to look at it. I was ahead of 794 in the men open category. :D
The route has 3 hills, a good mix with long straight flats. Traffic control is fine with adequate marshals. Can be better next time with more water stations.
Overall, I'm satisfied with my run. Lack of training so I can't expect much.Next race, Kenyir Triathlon on 10 April.

Sharing from Global Media Outreach
Another is Good Friday, when we honor the day when Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. And three days later, on the day we celebrate as Easter, Jesus rose from the dead! When Jesus Christ rose from the dead, He rose victorious over sin and death and hell. He conquered death for us!
Before He died, Jesus had ministered for three years in the country of Israel. He was born in Bethlehem and lived about 30 years before He began His public ministry. Then for three years He ministered; He taught; He performed miracles; He selected and ministered to His disciples and taught them how to minister to others. He healed the sick; He fed the hungry; He gave sight to the blind. It was a wonderful three years when He ministered on earth.
What is most amazing is that He came to earth to die for our sins. Even though Jesus is perfect and sinless, He took on Himself the penalty for the sins of the world. How great is the love of Jesus Christ!

21km
During that 3 months, friends have been doing marathons in Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong. Me? 5km runs...hahaha!
Ask me to run a marathon now, I'll faint! Serious! Don't dare to think about doing one in the near future. Can't explain what happened but the urge to run 42km is gone...vanish...blown by the wind.
Even the next 2 runs which 42km is available, I registered for 21km...both of them! :P
I just hope the running fever will come back and the 2 half marathons will build up for a rewarding 42km...somewhere...have yet to decide where...now searching...
Bareno 21km run is this Sunday so let's see how I fare...

Project Green
Long time no update on this.
Not so good though...tomato decided it's not their kinda place so all except 1 have said goodbye. Yup, only 1 left and he's not looking very healthy either. Even after adding some fertilizer, he's not showing the right response. I must have used the WRONG fertiliser...either they were overdosed or they it gave them food poisoning. :(
Even newly bought rosemary and basil died after I gave some of that fertiliser. Argh!!!!
Hmm...japanese humus...what the hell is wrong with this fertiliser? It stinks quite a bit when it gets diluted in water. Must be too much nitrates...
At least ginger is doing well. There were 2 shoots but 1 was blown over by strong wind few nights ago. I better stick in a pillar for this fella to hang on to when thunderstorm brings along strong wind again.
Just checking in
A priest passing through his church
in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
and see who had come to pray.
Just then the back door opened,
a man came down the aisle,
The priest frowned as he saw
the man hadn't shaved in a while.
His shirt was kind of shabby
and his coat was worn and frayed,
the man knelt, he bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.
In the days that followed,
each noon time came this chap,
each time he knelt just for a moment,
A lunch pail in his lap
Well, the priest's suspicions grew,
with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
'What are you doing here?'
The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power
'I stay only moments, see,
because the factory is so far away;
as I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kind a what I say:
'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM
CHECKING IN TODAY.'
The priest feeling foolish,
told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime.
Time to go, Jim smiled, said 'Thanks.'
He hurried to the door.
The priest knelt at the altar,
he'd never done it before.
His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
and met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
he repeated old Jim's prayer:
'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT
I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY'
Past noon one day, the priest noticed
that old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
he began to worry some.
At the factory, he asked about him ,
learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
But he'd given them a thrill.
The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.
The head nurse couldn't understand
why Jim was so glad,
when no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.
The priest stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.
Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
up and with a winsome smile;
'the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
that in here all the while
everyday at noon He's here,
a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:
'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP,
AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.
ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS
CHECKING IN TODAY.'
If this blesses you, pass it on
Many people will walk in and out of your life,
but only true friends will leave
footprints in your heart.
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
and Angels watch over you.
But for those of us who are already His, He not
only holds us in the palm of His hand, but has
engraved our names there, and we are continually
in His sight (Isaiah 49:16)
This is too good not to share -
So this is me ... Just Checking In.

Dream Pacat Aromatica and the best char siew!
Well, all the 3 are names of MTB trails in FRIM. Started with Dream trail, heat up with Pacat trail and cooled down on Aromatica trail. Too bad I didn't snap any of Aromatica. Why the trail is named Pacat is very clear. It's where hikers get sucked...I mean attacked by sucking leeches. For MTBikers, slim chance to see a pacat on you but don't rule it out. Sometimes the pacat do get lucky. Hehehe! We followed PCC MTBikers for a FRIM ride on a Sunday morning. Good thing about off road rides is we don't have to wake up at 6am anymore. Hehehe! Once inside the trail, trees become our good friend, shielding the hot sun rays from us. You can ride all day long in the shades provided you bring along enough water and food cos in the jungle, there's no mamak or kopitiam.
Dream...yes, I'm still dreaming of doing the switchbacks. The last 10m is the scariest...for me anyway, as the trail goes down a single trail slope with rocks and roots and crossing a drain onto Rover trail. Many riders became superman on that tricky slope as I was told. As for Rover trail, it's a highway for bikers and joggers.
Pacat trail starts off with a steep slope. Well, to me it's STEEP and I have no guts to ride down...not yet anyway but 1 day, I will conquer the slope.
Oh my Cinder-ella. Having fun?
After the ride, it's time for what else....makan!!!! :P And I have to tell you what we had, seriously. The BEST char siew ever!!!!
BBQ till it's caramelised, chewy but certain parts just seem to melt in your mouth. Ooh lala! So yummylicious!!!
If you like char siew, this is one you should not miss!
Click below. I hope I got the locatin right and not bringing you to "holland". Hahaha!
